Designed to transfer rolling stock from one track to another or to pass in a straight direction. It is used on 1st and 2nd class railway lines with mixed freight and passenger train traffic. The use of translation is especially beneficial in cramped conditions. Interchangeable with the turnout switch of Project 2869. The sharp crosspiece is a prefabricated cast core connected to rail guards. The blunt cross is solid cast. Frame rails and points are hardened at high frequency.
